The Scoop on Geese

Canada Geese in particular are attracted to lawns, especially those near water.  

 

These two features, lawns and water, are key components of many urban, suburban  and cottage landscapes.

 

 Lawns near open water, provide excellent goose habitat for feeding, raising young, moulting and resting.

 

Once geese have nested successfully, encouraging them to leave an area can be difficult, and their numbers tend to increase in future years.

​

While the geese population at Skiff Lake has been minimal, we all can do our part to minimize increased geese population.  We ask that you take the time to read the Facts and Tip info sheet below.
